Well, this is a castle, in the rain and strong wind weather protection cabin style tents.

Just rely on it, and you are good to go with these best tents! This tent has been my go-to from the day when I 1st tested it.

Look how much room it has. You can easily fit 6 people along with a lot of stuff. On top of that pretty big vestibular area allows you to store a lot of stuff you carry with you while you are camping.

The one thing you have to make sure of when you are purchasing the best tents for long-term camping is its durability.

Anything from the market can sustain 1 or 2 days in harsh weather, but here your goal is different, you need something that lasts forever.

I know it seems a bit odd, but this is reality, we have to make sure the tent we are purchasing doesn’t ruin our camping experience.

Almost everyone spends most of his/her time inside the tent. We must have a good interior. Talking about the interior of this tent, the base of the tent is some cm above the ground making sure the water from the ground is not directly coming into the tent.

Pockets of this tent are very accessible and easy to use. The thing I don’t like about most tents are the pockets are placed in such positions where your hand can not reach easily. So you have to sit up and then you can use those pockets.

But this is not the case with this tent, you can easily use these pockets right from the comfort of your sleeping bag.

The total interior area of this durable tent is about 83 square feet and floor dimensions are 120 x 100 inches extra space.

The enough space is a lot for 6 persons.

The other thing I like the most about this tent is its 2 door design, this thing makes sure you don’t crawl over each other when trying to get out of the tent.

The peak height of this spacious tent is 76 Inches in the center, which is pretty reasonable in windy weather. You can easily sit up and chill with your friends.

Exterior of any tent decides how reliable the polyester tent is, we have tested this tent in multiple ways, We have performed our durability test by taking people, dogs, and some nasty kids into this tent,

Well, they did their job and the tent did its job!

End of the day, Tent was the winner.

Like a good tent for camping, this tent is a 3 season tent, the main body of the tent is made up of mesh material so that you can get some fresh air right into your tent.

The original tent body is mainly made up of 40-denier polyester no-see-um mesh/68-denier polyester taffeta.

This mesh tent fabric is really strong, and it is supposed to be! As it has to be in harsh weather for longer durations of time.

This lightweight tent is based on a 4 pole structure. That helps it to maintain its shape properly. Poles are 14.5 millimeters in diameter and made up of Aluminum DAC DA17.

We have tested this thing up to 50 MPH for 27 hours straight, and the tent was steady, with no poles breaking or de shaping in it.

These poles are made up of Aluminum, as Aluminum is a light metal, these poles may feel very light, but trust me they are very strong.

Water Resistance

Is my tent properly waterproof? This is a BIG question that most camping geeks ask before they purchase any tent. If you have been camping for a while now you may understand that sometimes rain doesn’t stop for days and days.

Well, in that case, there are only 2 options, one is to go back home and the second is to get a tent that can stop water coming in your tent.

After purchasing this tent, you are opting for the second option.

Rainfly of this extra space tent is made up of 68-denier ripstop polyester, which makes sure no water drop comes inside the tent.

Another factor that causes the rain to come inside the tent is the rainfly setup, some people just don’t set up the rain fly in a correct manner, that’s why water dripping happens.

This long term tent is made for those who like to camp like a champ, not for those who are reluctant to challenges, if you are the one, go for it.

Using this tent you will not be seeing any issues, Marmot is famous for creating high-quality products that are usable and reliable.

With jingle free nylon zipper and Light-Reflective points with an optional footprint, this tent is a beast for 6. If you are looking for the best tent for long-term camping. You must get your hands on this thing.

2 person camping is always adorable and enjoyable, if you are a couple or just 2 friends, you can enjoy the long camps with each other.

This tent is for 2 persons only, but you can not question the credibility and resistance of this tent.

There are multiple tents available in the market starting from $20, but all of them are not for camping for the long term.

This tent has the gusts, you can use it to camp long term, it doesn’t matter if you are camping on a beach or right on a cliff.

It can handle every kind of situation.

I think that is enough of a base, now let me share some facts and figures related to this tent.

Interior is the thing that plays a BIG ROlE in the comfort or discomfort of any long term tent. Talking about the interior of Featherstone UL Granite 2P Backpacking Tent, the 1st thing when you enter the tent is a vibe of perfection.

How they made it, how perfectly parts are attached with each other.

How all the mesh is perfectly connected with boundaries without even a single wrinkle in it.

The lamp hanging mount is perfectly centered so that all of your tents lit up when you hang a lamp there.

The base of this long term tent is made up of 63-denier Ripstop Polyester with 3000mm polyurethane hydrostatic rated coating, that makes sure the water from the ground does not come inside the tent.

This is a pretty strong fabric, that is the reason you can use this tent even without a footprint.

As mentioned earlier this tent has a sleeping capacity for 2 persons.

Total floor space is 29.75 Sq Feet, which is a lot more than required for 2 sleeping persons, so you can easily adjust 1 bag in this tent.

The main body of this tent is made up of No See Um Mesh, which is pretty strong and durable. In our durability test, this tent got a 9/10. (Only a few tents got this).

Zippers of this tent have been sealed with special silicone material to make sure no water comes inside the tent while you are camping in a rainy place.

As this is a freestanding tent, this needs to have strong poles, in case of storm and bad weather it should withstand it.

As it does pretty well, in our 3 days stay in K2 base camp, we used this tent, there was no rain but the wind was always more than 50 MPH there.

Rainflies do have a door that we can open and close to enter or exit the tent. The main tent comes with 2 doors and 2 big vestibules.

Vestibules are big enough (25.6 in / 65 cm) to store a good amount of stuff in them, as I kept my skiing kit in those vestibules.

The packed weight of this tent is 6 lbs (2.72 kg) while the trail weight of this tent is 5 lbs (2.27 kg).

It may seem a lot to you but hold on, the minimalist setup weight of this tent is just 3.8 lbs (1.72 kg)

So yes, you can easily carry it around with you.

I like small tents, as this is a 2 person tent, I was not a fan of it when I was purchasing it for review. However, the purchase was forced by most of you who were asking about it.

Well after using and testing it for a whopping 4 months, I would say, hands down, this is the best tent for long-term camping for 2 people.

Cozy, comfortable, relaxing, durable. These are some words that I will use for this tent.

This tent is a 4 person tent, having a lot, really a lot of comfort for you.

The comfort starts from setup, where you don’t have to snap the poles. This tent has a freestanding fiberglass structure that allows you to set up the tent very quickly and easily.

And ends in the interior where you can relax, lay down and enjoy galaxies of stars right from the meshed roof.

I have a lot to say about this tent. Let’s 1st discuss the interior of this tent material.

Talking about the interior of these quality tents, the best thing I like about this enough room tent is its door height. The door of this tent is higher than a normal tent.

That ensures even if the door is open no water splashes and insects come inside the tent.

P.S: I always suggest everyone use an insect repellent solution or use an insect killer to protect your body from those bad insects.

The base of this tent is 7.6 x 8.6 Feet, which comes to be a living area of 64.36 Sq Feet.

The center height of any tent matters a lot in its comfort, a tent won’t be comfortable if the roof is touching your head whenever you sit.

However, in this tent, the center height is 52 Inches, which is pretty good. I am not a tall person, but I do have some friends who are 6,2. They can easily sit in this tent.

Tents have 2 doors, that is my favorite thing, I just love to have multiple doors in a tent.

Floor sealing is another big factor in choosing this tent. No one likes water coming into the tent when it rains.

This family camping tent is very beautiful when we see it in the rain fly. Doors are great, zippers are very strong and durable.

The tent is based on a 2 steel poles design, the poles are very strong as they are made up of fiberglass and the pole diameter is 11 millimeters.

The footprint is not included in this tent and you don’t even need that, you can use this tent without a footprint.

This is a freestanding lighter weight tent, so you don’t need to hook it with the ground, however, it’s always good to go for the safer side and hook the tent with the ground.

It just takes a minute or two but can save you from a lot of hassle.

If we are talking about the exterior of a tent and we don’t talk about vestibules, it won’t be justice.

This tent has a good vestibule space. The vestibule area in this tent is almost 25 Sq Feet. You can easily store your stuff there.

You can open half a rainfly if you want some serious ventilation, other than that you can also open the ventilation window available on the top of the tent. That will enable you to stay away from suffocation that happens in summer.

There are many 4 person tents available in the market, but none of them can beat the level of ALPS Mountaineering Taurus 4-Person Tent.

This tent has a vibe that can not be described in words, our team has been camping since 2015 in multiple locations around the world. And many times they asked for this specific tent.

I used this tent multiple times, the durability of this thing is just amazing three season tent with extra storage space.

Boys, again we have a 6 person tent dome shape, suitable for 3 or 4 people if you are planning to camp for a longer duration of time.

This great tent is my hot favorite tent due to its shape and aesthetics, this tent even allows a person like me to stand in it.

It’s a pretty hefty tent, but when you are going for long-term camping, then this thing does not matter a lot.

The entrance of this tent fly may seem small to you but believe me once you are inside this tent, you will feel at home.

You can easily sit, stand or lay down.

This tent is made for 6 people, but what I recommend is this is the best tent for long-term camping for 4 people.

Because when you are camping for longer durations of time, usually you have a lot of stuff with you, so you can use the space of 2 people to store and manage your stuff inside the tent.

The interior of this family camping synthetic tents is specious, the peak height of this tent is what attracts me the most towards this thing. And for sure it will attract you, as it is 84 inches, yes 7 Feet, so you can easily stand in this tent and walk.

I danced with my buddies in this tent, this was our mini dance club for a night in hot weather.

Also, you can enjoy beautiful views from the comfort of your tent in colder weather!

The Interior is pretty decent, and well lit when you are camping in a bright environment.

Talking about the floor area of this tent, the dimensions of this tent are 10 feet by 10 feet by 7 feet, giving us a total area of 100 sq feels.

Yup right, 100 sq feet in a camping tent.

This is the reason this tent made up our list of best tents for long-term camping.

As this tent is very different from other tents, this thing does have a rain fly, but differently.

This tent doesn’t have vestibules, the rain fly of this tent is on the upper end of the tent only.

In the exterior, as this is a family tent, there is a power intake pocket, from which you can attach a generator or any power source to light up your tent.

The frame structure of this tent is based on a 4 pole structure, making the tent stand in the fast wind.

Poles are very important when we are camping for the long term.

The Poles of this tent are made up of Steel/fiberglass with a diameter of whooping 19 millimeters. For a tent, it’s like concrete.

Despite all of that, setting up this tent is not a big deal. You can easily set up this tent within 3 minutes even if you are alone.

Whenever we think about camping, the only thing that comes to our mind is weight, so it’s a very important thing to know the weight of this tent.

The Package weight of this tent is around 25 lbs. 4 oz with a size of 9 x 28 inches however the minimum trail weight of this tent is 24 lbs. 5 oz.

The waterproofing of a tent is the single factor that is most accountable in deciding which tent is good and which is not.

This tent has a rain fly made up of 75-denier polyester, making sure the water of light snow remains outside the tent even exposed to them for longer durations of time.

As per our tests, this tent got an 8/10 in our waterproofing test.

For this tent, I kept pouring water right on zippers for 75 minutes and there was not a single drop of water that was able to go inside the tent.

Look, my friend, you are not going to purchase tents every day, and I am damn sure you are willing to ruin your camping experience for few bucks,

If that is the case, you should get this tent. This is worth your money.

I know this is a bit on the expensive side, but each dollar you invest in this tent is worth spending.

This tent is an all-time favorite of kids, they like this tent very much, but lemme make this clear to you, this tent is not only best in shape, this backpacking tent is also very durable and resistant to weather.

The best place to use this tent is in humid environments, this tent protects you against UV rays and extra sub burn.

The conical shape of this tent gives a look that it doesn’t have much space in it, but as soon as you enter inside the tent you realize that the tent has a lot of room in it.

This tent is a multi-purpose tent, I have used this tent as a washroom, as a dressing room as well as a changing room.

As it is pretty heightened, we can expect its capabilities for these tasks.

As for all other tents, let’s start with the interior of this tent. This tent is made for 4-5 people, the interior is pretty tall, the center height of this tent is 7.9 feet.

Pretty high!

The interior floor is spacious, and you can remove the rainfly to use it as a summer camping tent, the walls of this tent do have some extent of mesh fabric used in them.

Build quality of this thing is just amazon, no complaints on that, the fabric used in the manufacturing of this tent is anti-tear 190T patterned polyester and 150D Oxford fabric.

Ventilation is another factor for any tent, when there are multiple people in 1 tent, if the tent is not properly ventilated, suffocation can happen.

To avoid unnecessary suffocation, the doors and windows of this tent are made up of 2000D PU 3000MM high-density mesh. That allows fresh air to come inside the tent.

Let’s hunt the exterior now, as per our test and experience with this tent, this tent performs the best in snow.

This tent won’t allow snow to accumulate on the top of it, due to its design.

As the tent is not wider at the top, higher wind speed is also not a problem while using this tent.

Rainfly of this tent is very steady and properly sized with the tent. No rainwater dares to come inside the tent when the rain flies in on it.

That is the reason we have this tent on our list of best tents for long-term camping.

Looking at the top of this tent, you will find a ventilation shaft, just like a chimney right coming from our kitchen.

This thing is designed to get you fresh air and save you from the rainwater at the same time.

Seems and zippers are double sealed with silicon, to make sure they are properly resistant to water.

This multi-use tent is a blessing if you are camping in large groups.

In such events, you need a pretty reliable place and you can use it as a multipurpose place.

This is the best of the best multi-use tent. We do have one of these in our company collection, but I am trying to buy one for myself.

My kids are in love with the design of this tent.

What kind of tent is best for long-term camping?

If you are planning to camp for the long term, you should select a tent that is durable, waterproof, and easy to carry, don’t worry about the price, invest good money in your camp, this is a one-time investment you have to make.

Can I cook inside a tent?

It depends, if you are cooking in a microwave oven, you can cook inside the tent as many tents offer a port from where you can bring electricity into your tent by attaching a generator or any other power source.

But if that is not the case, you should avoid cooking in camp, you should cook at least 5 feet away from your tent to make sure your tent is not hurt by the heat of the fire.

Can I store my food in vestibules?

Many people ask this question, can we store our food in vestibules? And the answer is NO. At night time many animals come in search of food, they have a strong nose, they can easily detect a food source.

So storing your food in vestibules is just like an invitation to beers and other animals to come and join you.
